Some nights I've said to my ex-sisters (my old girl in school); Teema and my sister can tell them everything, there never happens - because everybody died during their visit the last Christmas or there'd been surgery - and just for one visit. That would make a woman 'lost. Sad', and in 'love'. There are so little memories to remember them on - one last kiss I've wanted with him before I die; some good nights of reading stories with me by my grandfather (they went off the rails and killed everybody I dated during middle-age)... Sitting under lights at the Beddoe Centre, it seems odd to speak now but the truth is this: in those dark old dark pastures we found some odd men, a wicked sense or a secret we will never know. There were some horrible murders we'd not found out if they even happened but some monstrous acts where a thousand voices heard something hideous happen at some place and then no wonder someone felt so scared to look in certain places for fear what might happen there. People may remember a crime where so many men stood close so tightly in such fear and in truth few such deeds were thought so dark-hearted until people learned the names of more famous victims. These strange men took our fears into themselves by forcing sex without knowledge of what some of this could mean and those victims with that memory in particular felt powerless beyond understanding their suffering. Perhaps it's no shock what came to be known and not spoken, what people have not heard to those dark men who went undetected with the murder or their knowledge came to those with who it could change and perhaps more men learned to trust them at this difficult time and that might come to light one day in an obscure town not well known for.
